County Executive, Essex County
Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr. is the county executive of Essex County, New Jersey. He first assumed the position in 2003 and has been reelected in subsequent county elections. As county executive, he oversees the administration of Essex County government, including management of county departments, implementation of the county budget, and supervision of regional programs and services.
Before becoming county executive, DiVincenzo served in the New Jersey Legislature representing the 28th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly. His legislative work included policy issues related to transportation, economic development, and community programs affecting municipalities within Essex County.
Earlier in his public service career, DiVincenzo served as a member of the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, now known as the Essex County Board of County Commissioners.
